By blending the art of tattooing with a form of animation and sequential storytelling, each hand-poke tattoo represents a frame—much like a still from a film.
This process captures "animating bodies," allowing the artist to document the movement, time, and transformation of the body itself.
Each tattoo, or "frame," represents a distinct moment in time, freezing that instant while contributing to a larger narrative when viewed together. Over time, these tattoos collectively create a dynamic, living animation, brought to life by the movements of the tattooed person.
Since November of last year, I’ve been on a tattoo journey, this will evolve into an ongoing animation project centred on bodies and energy. I will continue to capture ‘animating bodies’ through this process, with each tattoo freezing a moment in time and bringing still images to life.
